Why Kinsman Legal?

Why "Kinsman Legal"?

PictureErnest Wilfred Kinsman, 1895 - 1969
David Peters named Kinsman Legal after his maternal grandfather, Ernest Kinsman.  Ernest served as a stipendiary magistrate in Queensland, Australia from 1948 to 1960. Ernest was a polymath who delighted in presiding over legal cases with a mathematical or scientific angle.  Family rumour has it that Ernest had badly wanted to major in sciences but was told by his mother, in no uncertain terms, that he had to enter the law.

Ernest had married Elsa Browne in 1931 and they had 3 beautiful daughters.  All 3 daughters married.  Ernest passed away in 1969, followed by Elsa in 1991.  Hence the Kinsman name seemed destined to pass into history.  Until now.

Kinsman Legal is named in honour of the breadth and depth of intellect that Ernest Kinsman brought to the law.  Similarly, Kinsman Legal draws on the learnings of other disciplines, in particular economics and mathematics, in practicing law.
